Is it a boat? Is it a WaveRunner? Well, it’s kind of both. Bordeaux-based Sealver has teamed up with multinational heavyweight Yamaha Motors to create something completely different for jet lovers – the Wave Boat.
In a nutshell, Sealver has come up with the design for a hull of a boat, a 5.25 metre by 2.40 metre vessel that can accommodate six people on sunpads and/or seating fore and aft, but the engine is conspicuous by its absence. This is where Yamaha Motors steps in. Any of its four-stroke WaveRunners will glide up the rear and provide the necessary power to have you whizzing across the waves in a jiffy.
In the purchase of a Sealver Wave Boat, the usefulness of your WaveRunner is pretty much doubled. While a WaveRunner may, at a push, hold up to four passengers, the Wave Boat can entertain a party of six. Whilst WaveRunners may be banned at night or limited in their geographical area of operation – the addition of a Wave Boat will, in most cases, bypass these restrictions. Why buy a normal boat for family boating and a WaveRunner for fun when you can have the best of both worlds?
Lightweight and with a deep contoured hull, the Wave Boat is the perfect partner for the WaveRunner allowing for comfortable manoeuvrability and enough sprightly speed to handle waterskiing and wakeboarding off the boat’s optional wakeboard tower. Upon anchoring up, or indeed beaching, the WaveRunner can be uncoupled in less than a minute allowing guests to choose between a high speed adrenalin rush or a civilized swim, fish, snorkel, sunbathe or picnic at leisure on deck.
Standard equipment includes anchor storage, three lockers and a swim ladder whilst Sealver allows for many extras from customizable upholstery and hull stickers to trailers, bimini covers, dining tables, music speakers, lights and the all-important wakeboard towers and racks.
Prices for a Wave Boat Pack (boat + trailer) start from 14,000 euros. Excludes cost of Yamaha WaveRunner.
