Take Part – The Diamond Jubilee Flotilla

Take part in history and fly the flag round the Rock.

Open to all vessels – just come and help us celebrate.

At noon on Monday 4th June 2012 the ships of Gibraltar will gather together for a ceremonial sail around the Rock of Gibraltar. Led by the Royal Navy and including vessels from all areas of the maritime industries in Gibraltar the flotilla will be a celebration of the Queen’s reign and of Gibraltar’s proud maritime history.

Unlike the London Flotilla due to take place on the Thames the day previously, anyone can take part and any visiting vessels are welcome. Just register via the link at the bottom of this page and then post a photo of your vessels onto the facebook page created for the event. The event is free to participants and all vessels will receive a specially designed anniversary pennant.

A whole day of entertainment

As well as the Flotilla there will be a party for participating crews in Ocean Village on the return as well as live music, a GBC Roadshow and special menus from all the restaurants, including a special Flotilla Breakfast available in O’Reillys for only £6.95 – the perfect thing to fuel you for the day!

Entertainment will run throughout the day on-shore and in the evening there will be dj’s and music at Savannah’s leading up to the lighting of the beacon on top of the Rock at 10.30pm.
